Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit behind Sesame Street, and Discovery Education are teaming up to create an early learning channel designed to meet kids’ educational needs. Recommended for kids from pre-K to grade two, the channel features a variety of resources, including interactive games and activities, lesson plans, educator resources, video content, and family partnership supports.

The resources are designed to address the needs prioritized by Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funding and associated with interrupted schooling. The content works to assist kids in building foundational academic skills, including math and literacy, and social and emotional development. Social-studied aligned curriculum also helps kids find a sense of belonging and identity. All of these resources are designed on research-based content across a wide range of Sesame Workshop Media, including Sesame Street, The Electric Company, and more.

Other types of content, including STEAM, coding, and healthy habits, will be prioritized through educator feedback and added to the channel in the future.

The Sesame Workshop channel will be available this fall on the Discovery Education learning platform.
