A cop in Las Vegas is accused of menacing robberies of a trio of local casinos.

According KLAS Las Vegas, Caleb Rogers, an officer with the LMPD, has been charged with armed robbery at the Rio Hotel and Casino sportsbook late last month. Rogers reportedly has been accused of similar unsolved casino robberies in November and January.

Officer Rogers is accused of using his department gun in the heists, which included threatening to murder casino employees and a brutal physical attack on at least one worker.

Per KLAS: “The FBI filed charges against Rogers for those two incidents in court Friday, saying he is a suspect in a robbery at the Red Rock Resort and Casino on Nov. 21 and at the Aliante Casino on Jan. 6, documents said.”

Rogers allegedly made off with about $74,000 in the Red Rock robbery. In the alleged Aliante robbery, Rogers allegedly stole $11,500. KLAS reported that the total amount involved in the string of violent crimes is around $200,000.

Rogers was reportedly apprehended while in the process of robbing the Rio casino.

“According to the report, security began chasing Rogers as he ran outside. A Rio security tackled Rogers in the driveway when Rogers pulled a gun out of his waistband, police said.”

In addition to the charges in Nevada, Rogers faces federal charges of interference with commerce by robbery and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence. Despite being a high risk of further violence to the community, a judge set bail at $250,000 on the state charges.

KLAS reported that Rogers remains in custody and is due in federal court this week.
